About
Model access should feel like a utility
Liquid Whale started because three infrastructure engineers were tired of maintaining a wall of provider dashboards, each with its own key, its own billing page, and its own idea of what a rate limit means. The gateway is the fix we wanted to exist.

Position
We are the layer between your code and everyone else's infrastructure, so we behave like plumbing: quiet, priced at cost, and honest when it leaks.
Principles
Four commitments we publish and keep
These are not values on a wall. Each one is checkable in a response header, an invoice line, or a public table.
P1
Prices are pass-through
The number in the catalog is the number on the invoice. No conversion table, no asterisk, no platform fee per token.
P2
No lock-in, ever
Your code targets an open request shape against our endpoint. Leave any time with the same code, point it wherever you like.
P3
Show the routing work
Every response carries the attempt chain, the region, and the final provider. Debugging is reading a header, not opening a ticket.
P4
Publish the numbers
Leaderboards are computed from real routed traffic, ranked by usage, and refreshed weekly. If a model is popular, the table says so.
Timeline
Three years, one direction
From a shared wall of dashboards to a gateway that routes five modalities on one bill.
2024
Founded in a tide of API keys
Three infrastructure engineers, one shared wall of provider dashboards, and a conviction that model access should feel like a utility.
2025
The gateway opens
First hundred models routed, failover headers shipped, and the first public leaderboard published from real traffic.
2026
Three hundred models deep
Text, image, video, and speech on one bill. Routing uptime holds at 99.98 percent across 40+ providers.

Contact
Talk to the people who carry the pager
No sales layer between you and the engineers. Messages reach the same people who watch the routing dashboards, and answers usually come back the same day.

Start free, stay for the headers
The free tier covers every flagged model on the leaderboard, with the same routing, analytics, and failover as paid traffic. Your code never changes.
